Celebrating New England’s Start-Up Ecosystem: The NEVY’s

Last night I attended the New England Venture Capital Awards Ceremony (The “NEVYs”) ―the first edition of an awards show hosted by the folks at the New England Venture NevysCapital Association to celebrate the accomplishments of local entrepreneurs and investors over the last year. It was held at the Sinclair ― a tremendous new restaurant, bar and live-music club right next door to Koa Labs Start Up Common Room.

It was a fantastic event, and I hope the start of a great tradition as we continue to build a world-class start-up ecosystem in Boston and New England. It was tremendous to see so many VCs, angels and entrepreneurs having a great time and enjoying each other’s company. I’ve discussed my commitment to building a founders’ culture in Cambridge in

the past, and events like the NEVYs are crucial to building the connections and trust needed to make an environment that encourages great engineers to have big ideas and build independent companies in Boston.

I was beyond honored to win the “Angel Investor of the Year” award and hope it is evidence of my commitment to encouraging great founders taking root. Congrats to all of the other winners. Make sure to check out the event’s pictures.

Thanks to C.A. Webb and Casey Hogan for putting together a first-rate event and allowing me to host an after-party at Koa. We had an AWESOME time.  If you didn’t make it this year, I hope to see you next year.
